Buying art for the first time should feel exciting—not confusing. Whether you’re choosing sculpture or painting for your home or selecting a work for a special space, I want you to know what happens from the moment you place your order to the moment your artwork arrives.
Understanding the Price
Each piece I make is unique. I price my pedestal sculptures, wall sculptures, and high-relief paintings based on size and complexity. These mixed-media works require special construction with carefully planned steps, so the price reflects the making process as well as the finished artwork.
For pedestal sculptures, the clear acrylic display case is included in the purchase price. The case is shipped separately from the sculpture so each can be packed appropriately.
If you have questions about a particular piece or what is included, please contact me through my Contact page. I’m happy to clarify before you order.
What Size Means in Your Space
Artwork dimensions can be difficult to picture on a screen. Before you buy, check the listed measurements and imagine them in the place where you plan to display the piece. Some artwork images show the art installed in a home for scale and to help you visualize in your own space.
A few simple ways to get a better sense of scale:
- Use (blue) painter’s tape to mark the artwork’s dimensions on a wall, shelf, or table.
- Measure the available space, including any room needed around the piece.
- Consider the viewing distance: a work that feels intimate up close may read differently across a room.
- For pedestal sculptures, account for the display area as well as the sculpture itself and the outer dimensions of the acrylic case.
Taking a moment to map out the size can help you feel confident that the artwork will suit its intended spot.
How Your Artwork Is Packed and Shipped
I ship artwork by FedEx Home or FedEx Business Ground. Because sculptural work needs thoughtful protection in transit, I double-box each piece. The inner box with artwork inside is centered within an outer box, creating a bubble-wrap floated arrangement designed to help protect the artwork from bumps and handling during shipping.
I also include instructions for handling the piece carefully, so you’ll know how to unpack and manage it without risking damage. Always lift the art by the wood cradle or wood base or frame when lifting out of the box.
For pedestal sculptures, the acrylic case is shipped separately from the sculpture. Both parts are included in the purchase price, but they will arrive as separate shipments with separate tracking.
Tracking and Delivery
After your order ships, I’ll email you the FedEx tracking number and a link to FedEx’s online tracking system. You can use the link(s) to check the shipment’s status and follow its progress.
Please keep an eye out for the email, and review the tracking information as your delivery approaches. If you have questions about the shipment, you can contact me and I’ll do my best to help.
When Your Artwork Arrives
Please follow the included handling instructions when opening and moving your artwork. Take your time as you unpack it, and keep the packaging nearby until you’ve confirmed that everything has arrived safely. If your order includes a pedestal sculpture and acrylic case, remember that they are sent separately and may arrive at different times.
I want your experience to feel as considered as the artwork itself. If anything is unclear before or after you order, please get in touch. I’m glad to help you feel prepared to welcome your new piece into your home.
