Martis Lorica II (Mars Loricifera II)

Inspired by the new science of astro-microbiology, this encaustic painting is a blend of Mars NASA Perseverance Rover mission public domain land photography, the phylum Loricifera, a microscopic marine sediment-dwelling animal found in the ocean and cave geology photography.

With built up accretion textures in relief, coupled with more sculptural elements embedded in the layers of beeswax, this my visual hypothesis of what scientist might discover as they research the origins of life on earth.
